Uploading your files using Internet Explorer Although we mostly support using Internet Explorer for our customers, you can still use most of this information to upload files with other browsers. This section of our support files assumes that you have already done the following:
Step 1: Open your Internet Explorer browser and enter the following address in the address line. ftp://members.accessbee.com (please note that there is no 'http://'. The 'ftp://' takes it's place when accessing ftp sites. Also there is no 'www'!)
When you are connected to the ftp site, you will see the following screen pop up over your browser window (Fig 2). Enter your username and password to gain access to your webspace. Your username and password are the same as the ones you use to dial into accessBee with your modem. If you have forgotten your username and password click here to have it automatically emailed to you. If you would like Windows to save your password and username, check the save password checkbox.
If your Internet Explorer window is maximized (fills the whole screen) you need to restore in order to use drag and drop to move your files. Look in the upper right corner of your browser. The middle button is used to restore the window. See Fig 3
When the window is restored, the same group of buttons will look like Fig 4
Now you want to bring up your 'My Computer' window to show the files that are on your local computer. Double click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop. Fig 5
When the 'My Computer' window is open, navigate through your hard drive or floppy drive until you find the files you would like to move to your web space. In this example, we navigated to a folder called my_pictures to upload two images (camping1.jpg, camping2.jpg) to our web space. See Fig 6
You should have two windows open at this time (Fig 7).
To move the local files from our local (your computer) to the server (your web space), click and drag your files from the 'My Computer' window and drop the files into the FTP (web space) window. You will see the following screen while your files are being transferred. (Fig 9) The files will be copied automatically (they will reside on your computer as well as in the web space).
The files will show up in the FTP (web space) window when the files are transferred. Fig 10.
