accessBee WS_FTP LE support information In order to use WS_FTP LE to access your web space, you must:
Download FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software You can access your web space via several methods including using almost any browser software (such as Internet Explorer) or by using any FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software. There are many FTP software products available on the Internet as well as many that can be purchased at your local computer store. Several products can be found for free (freeware) on the web such as WS_FTP LE by Ipswitch. If you would like to download a copy for free, please select the link below that corresponds to your operating system: WS_FTP LE for Windows 95/98 When the download dialog box appears, save the download to your harddrive. After the download is complete, find the file where you saved it (it is called ws_ftple_tuc.exe) and double click on it to run the installation. Once the software is installed, you can set up your FTP account to upload your files to the server for online viewing. Set up your FTP account: After you have downloaded and installed the WS_FTP LE software, you are ready to set up your FTP account. This account gets saved within your WS_FTP LE program and will enable you to send files to your web space. The following screen shots may appear slightly different on your computer based upon your operating system. Step 1: Launch the WS_FTP LE program from your start menu. The program will open with two windows displayed, one small window with a larger one behind it (see below).
Step 2: The smaller window (see below) contains the session properties. The 'Profile Name' dropdown list will contain the different FTP accounts you have set up in WS_FTP LE (if you decide to set up any other accounts. Only one account is required for your web space). You need to set up a new account to access your web space, so please click on the 'New' button, then proceed to the next step below.
Step 3: Clicking the 'New' button will clear the boxes in the session properties window, making room for the information you will need to enter for your account. Click your mouse in the boxes and fill in the following information (see image below): Profile Name: Create a name for your FTP account such as 'My accessBee site'. This name will appear in the dropdown list next time you open WS_FTP LE to access your web space. Host Name/Address: Enter members.accessbee.com Host Type: DO NOT CHANGE FROM 'AUTOMATIC DETECT'. User ID: Enter the username you use to access accessBee when dialing in (connecting) to the intenet with your modem. Leave the checkbox for 'Anonymous' unchecked. If you check this you will be unable to access your web space. Password: Enter your password in the password field. This is the same password you use when dialing in (connecting) to accessBee with your modem. Check the 'Save Pwd' checkbox if you would like WS_FTP LE to save your password. Otherwise you may enter your password each time you go to access your web space. When you have finished filling in the above information, click 'OK' and your WS_FTP LE will attempt to connect to your web space.
At this point your WS_FTP LE program will close the window above. The the window that is left open will either be connected to your web space (see Fig. 5) or it will show a screen similar to the one below. Notice the text that appears inside of the circled are is red and reads "!Login failure, so quiting". If you receive this mesage, click the 'Connect' button (lowest left corner) to bring back the 'Session Properties' window. Be sure to select your profile from the 'Profile Name' dropdown list and verify that the information from Step 3 was entered correctly. If you do not see the message depicted below, you most likely have connected successfully and you will see a screen similar to Fig. 5 below.
If you see a screen similar to the one below, congratulations! You are connected to your webspace and are ready for the next step of uploading your files by using WS_FTP LE. Click here to learn more.
